Mylo’s Trip To The Spa!

Who doesn’t need more hours in the day? I know I sure do! As one of my new years resolutions, I committed to making the most of my time in 2012. And yes, that even comes down to getting errands and work done while my dog is being groomed!
A girlfriend had told me about a company by the name of Aussie Pet Mobile (aussiepetmobile.ca/theisland)! My jaw dropped after she told me they provide a 15-step mobile grooming spa treatment…yes, I said mobile!!! They come to YOU! How convenient! This is exactly what my Malti-Poo Mylo needed! I think I was even a bit jealous, the word ‘spa’ makes any woman weak in the knees!
The day of the appointment I headed downstairs to meet the groomer and check out her ‘mobile spa’!!! My first impression was how incredibly loving she was towards Mylo…this meant the world to me. I had no doubt he was in good hands! After chatting for a few minutes, I learned that not only does Aussie Pet Mobile provide 15-step spa treatments for dogs, but cats too! You’d think because of the mobile spa idea that there would be a size limit, but nope, they groom everything from Chihuahuas to Great Danes!
Instead of heading back upstairs to get things done, I was way too excited to witness Mylo’s first pampering treatment, so I stuck around! Mylo started out with nail clipping, eye cleaning, whitening shampoo…and the list continues! He was even finished off with some canine cologne and a cute bow! He looked so handsome and most importantly relaxed!

There is a new dog in town and we’re really quite pleased to join in the celebration! Bosley’s Pet Food Plus has been around for 30 plus years and has 23 B.C. locations serving pet owners everywhere! We are looking very forward to supporting them as they move into Royal Oak on Vancouver Island. We will be on site for grooming on Saturday, January 28th from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Q: Why Aussie Pet Mobile/Mobile Grooming?
Aussie Pet Mobile Pet Grooming benefits your pet and you in many different ways.
Less stress on your pet as they are in their own environment and less hassle for you as it allows you to be at home doing other things. Alternatively we can come while you are at work, just like a cleaning service. Some groomers also do evening appointments as our Vans have lighting. They are also climate controlled for all weather.
Q: Do you groom cats?
Yes, our groomers do cats, we bathe cats, also the de-shedding process is great for cats, even the short haired ones. We also shave cats and do lion cuts, clip nails and clean their eyes and ears.
Q: What is full service grooming?
Full service grooming means that we do all breeds, bathing, grooming, clipping nails, teeth brushing, undercoat removal, flea and tick shampoo. Our weight limit is about 150 lbs. We also do cats too!
Q: What is the de-shedding tool?
The tool which if used every 4-6weeks reduces shedding by 60%-80%. It removes the pet's undercoat (that is what is shed) and leaves the pet's coat looking normal, not like a shavedown. We do both dogs and cats. It is fabulous!
Q: Is it necessary to book an appointment, if so how far in advance?
Just like any mobile service(plumbers etc.) we need to schedule an appointment in advance.
In general if you want a certain day and a certain time, you will definitely need to book well in advance. It is also an advantage to book on a regular basis as then you do not risk missing out on the time and day you want.

Just wanted to say how happy I was with Link’s grooming-the girls were amazing with him – considering he had never been groomed before – and I was so very happy with the results. He looks so handsome, especially with his new scarf and whatever shampoo/conditioner they used-we;;, he smells great! Link charmed the girls and vice versa-I guess he had quite a thing for Shannon! All in all, a very positive experience for both “Mummy” and Link.

Hi Glenn,
Shannon has just left and I wanted to let you know she was amazing. She took the time to get to know the cats and their situation with me which provided me with great peace of mind. The idea for us with this mobile grooming was to be able to have our 2 maine coon cats groomed every 3 weeks. We will aim to have the same timing each week. We travel often and have a house manager here so it would allow all to be taken care of regardless if we were here or not.
We appreciated the efforts today and wanted to tell you so.

Aussie Pet Mobile grooming service did a fantastic job on our 'difficult', long haired, old dog. He can get snarly when handled by strangers and especially groomers who normally take about four hours to get through his heavy, long, tangled coat.
But I think we've just discovered the Cesar Milan (Dog Whisperer) of Nanaimo. She has the midas touch with animals: firm yet loving and within a short while, our hard to handle hound was relatively relaxed and accepting of all this cleaning, brushing and clipping attention. Almost stressless.
After more than 3 hours of grooming, our dog was not panting, yelping and bug-eyed the way he usually is when coming out of the groomers. And the price: less than $90 for the entire job. The van is loaded with all the amenities necessary to do the job, big or small. In our case, it was huge, yet Shannon persevered and even though she came out looking like SHE was growing fur, she still had a smile on her face. The best part: after the job was done, she sat on the lawn and our old dog approached her, tail wagging-happy.
This new Vancouver Island franchise business will be doing very well if this is any indication of the service and price. Every aspect of grooming is done: nails, ears, conditioners etc. The van is clean and well-equipped with a lift for bath maneuvers and modern water hoses, large tub and strong, forced-air dryers. They do not require hook up to your water supply, everything is self-contained.
I can't say enough about this handy and reliable service. Right to your door, no mess, and one happy mutt. Like I said, 4 paws up!
